摘要

In this research, trend detection and analysis of rainfall during 1952–2019 have been performed using Mann-Kendall (MK) and Innovative Trend Analysis (ITA). The significance and slope result of the trend extracted through the ITA technique is verified against the MK method. The ITA result calculated at a 5% significance level for annual rainfall reported seven stations with a significant increasing and three stations having a significant downward trend while one of the stations (Koratagere) shows a non-significantly negative pattern. The stations are reflecting a significant upward trend except for Tumakuru-1, none of the stations reported a significant downward trend with the MK method. The influence of topographical and geographical conditions can be justified by analyzing the Tiptur station which has a maximum trend of 3.55 mm/year of MK Z statistics and 3.80 mm/year of ITA Z value. Seasonal scale evaluation also gives the correct and impressive result using ITA than Mann-Kendall.
