Uterine artery embolization (UAE) is a minimally invasive technique used to treat uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, and arteriovenous malformations. Fibroids are benign tumors that arise from the uterine smooth muscle and can cause significant pressure and bleeding symptoms for women. UAE can also be a lifesaving procedure for postpartum hemorrhage or high-risk patients with placental abnormalities.
