Varicose Veins
摘要
Varicose veins are dilated and tortuous superficial veins seen in the spectrum of chronic venous disorders. Varicose veins are predominately seen in the lower extremities and are a manifestation of chronic venous valvular insufficiency causing increased pressure in the lower extremity venous system. The diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins requires a vascular specialist with a thorough understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and physical examination of the venous system. This chapter will highlight these principles as well as provide a step-by-step guide of the common interventional treatment modalities for varicose veins.
