Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm (Classification, CT Aspects, Pre-Procedure Evaluation, Endovascular Treatment)

Thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms result from continuous dilation of the descending thoracic aorta extending into the abdominal aorta. The incidence has markedly increased over the past few decades (10.4 cases per 100,000 per year in the USA). Considering the morbidity of patients affected by TAAA (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, and cardiac disorders), the endovascular approach in the treatment of TAAAs has become a particularly attractive option. Different surgical approaches will be discussed.
