Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography

Echocardiography is the most widely used non-invasive imaging method for the clinical evaluation of cardiovascular diseases and plays an important role in the evaluation of the thoracic aorta. Compared to other imaging methods, echocardiography has several advantages: it is rapid, inexpensive, repeatable, does not involve the use of ionizing radiation, and last but not least can be performed at the patient’s bedside.
