摘要

The vast majority of aortic aneurysms (approximately 80%) involve the abdominal tract; of these, 90% are located in the aortic segment below the origin of the renal arteries. Abdominal aortic aneurysms cause approximately 1% of deaths and are the tenth leading cause of death in over-65 years old males. The mortality rate of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm is more than 80% and consequently early diagnosis and treatment are mandatory. In the last two decades, abdominal endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) has become the first choice for AAA treatment in the majority of patients. Endoprosthesis are introduced into the aorta by transfemoral access. These interventions are effective and complications very rare.
