Anatomy and Standardized Terminology
摘要
The aorta is the largest and primary artery in the human body. It originates from the left ventricle of the heart and then passes through the chest and abdomen until it reaches the vertebral body of L4 where it bifurcates into the right and left common iliac arteries. Numerous blood vessels branch out from the aorta along its way to reach supporting organs and tissues. The knowledge of radiological anatomy and standardized terms is of utmost importance to improve communication between radiologists and surgeons.
