Drug Product Design and Delivery of Biologics
摘要
This chapter is new to this edition. There has been a notable increase in biologic therapies in recent years. Compared to small molecules, biologics (i.e., proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, cells) have unique requirements to ensure absorption, stability, and safety. Anatomical barriers, examples, and functions of commonly used excipients, routes of administration, and manufacturing methods are discussed.
