Define Wisely or Widely but not Wildly: And Don’t Complain!

We are free to define words as we wish. However, there are limitations, which make our definitions sensible. Definitions may be wide and narrow. They may be wise in that they clearly and successfully serve a purpose. Otherwise, though possible, they may be seen as wild, crazy and counterproductive. Some people tend to complain about the definitions of words. They say that some words are very difficult to define. And they tend to believe that these words can be defined better in the future if we work hard on them. Such complaints are not well-founded. They are due to a misconception.
