Hate Speech: “He Should Be Shot”
摘要
Hate speech is a big social and political problem. It is not possible to define ‘hate speech’ unequivocally. Therefore, making a clear distinction between ‘hate speech’ and ‘non-hate speech’ is not possible. An ultimate agreement on what counts as ‘hate speech’ appears untenable. There are several different proposals to regulate ‘hate speech’. Early education about how language works may help solve the ‘hate speech’ problem. Recommendations are made on how we can help handle the ‘hate speech’ problem immediately. People expect clear and definitive information on how ‘hate speech’ can be banned. Such information is not available. The issues of ‘hate speech’ and ‘free speech’ are interconnected.
