Approach to Reduce Agricultural Waste via Sustainable Agricultural Practices
摘要
The growing global concern over environmental degradation and resource depletion has prompted the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices as a means to reduce agricultural waste. This chapter presents an approach to address the issue of agricultural waste by implementing sustainable agricultural practices. By emphasising the utilisation of organic farming techniques, integrated pest management, crop rotation, and efficient irrigation methods, this approach aims to optimise resource use, minimise chemical inputs, and enhance soil health. This chapter discusses the potential benefits of these practices, including reduced reliance on synthetic fertilisers and pesticides, increased biodiversity, improved water conservation, and enhanced long-term agricultural productivity. Drawing from case studies and scientific research, the approach underscores the importance of education and awareness among farmers, policymakers, and consumers to promote adopting these sustainable practices. As global food demand continues to rise, adopting this approach holds promise for mitigating agricultural waste, conserving natural resources, and ensuring food security in an environmentally responsible manner.
