The bioeconomy encompasses a range of industries, including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and biotechnology, and involves the use of advanced technologies to produce a variety of products, such as biofuels, biomaterials, and biopharmaceuticals. By using renewable biological resources, the bioeconomy can help in reducing the reliability of fossil fuels and mitigate the impacts of climate change. It can also support rural development and create new job opportunities in industries that are less dependent on finite resources. To support the growth of the bioeconomy, governments and various socioeconomic organizations are investing in research and development toward advancement in biotechnology and in policies that encourage sustainable practices and promote the use of renewable resources.
