Clinical Social Research as a Dialectic of Social Field and Network: Diagnosis and Intervention
摘要
The third chapter capitalizes on Bourdieu model of field as a formation and a hierarchy of actors that facilitate, hinder, or consolidate, as the case may be, the functions of a social space where society is structured according to complex power relationships. Moreover, networks are also vital within fields. This chapter further identifies the types and sizes of capital that all actors, individually and collectively, accumulate. As such, the goal is to formulate an appropriate clinical intervention that Clinical Social Researchers can use to improve the deficit presence of any of the types of capital or rearrange and improve the power relations and social practices associated with them.
