A Survey on the Control and Monitoring of X-Ray Dosimetry in Moroccan Hospitals

The control and monitoring of X-ray doses is a regulatory and normative requirement. It is a topic issue for Moroccan healthcare organization and authorities. This paper is a presentation of an empirical study on the control and monitoring of X-ray dosimetry in Moroccan healthcare institutions. Case studies were conducted in radiology departments to determine good practices in radiation protection. The results of the study indicated that 62% healthcare professionals from different organization are exposed to ionizing radiation without having any basic knowledge of radiation protection. This important result highlights the need for awareness and continuous training of healthcare professionals in terms of radiation protection and the implementation of the necessary means for protection.
