The Complete Mitochondrial Genome of Chrysina Resplendens

Studying the taxonomic status of insect species is crucial for our understanding of molecular and genetic phylogenetic diversity within the insect world. Taxonomy involves classifying and naming organisms based on their evolutionary relationships, which in turn helps researchers understand their biological, ecological, and evolutionary importance. The insect species Chrysina resplendens genome has been sequenced using Illumina HiSeq. Mitochondrial genome reads were extracted from the raw sequencing data, assembled using the Novolplasty pipeline and annotated using Mitos, transcan and BlastX. And Phylogeny reconstruction was performed using MegaX. Mitogenome sequence analysis revealed a 17,998 bp circular mitogenome (mt). The annotation expected the presence of 13 protein-coding sequences, 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes. A maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree was reconstructed with 7 related insect species obtained from GenBank, indicating that C. resplendens is a sister group of the beetle Trichogomphus mongol.
