Continuing and Emerging Challenges and a Call to Action

Chapter 9 deals with some of the more generic emerging challenges that journal editors may face, now or in the foreseeable future. These include how to handle predatory journals, plagiarising authors, the open access movement, Generative Artificial Intelligence and manuscript formats that go beyond text and graphics. Each of these is discussed carefully with pointers to opportunities and illustrative examples.
