Engaging with the Publisher and Editorial/Production Teams
摘要
This chapter deals with a topic that is largely invisible to both researchers and the audience: engagements with the publisher and the editorial or production teams. Even senior and associate editors may have next to no contact with the publisher. However, the editor of a journal needs to keep in very regular contact with a variety of different people in the publication and editorial offices. These cover both routine and exceptional situations, all of which demand the editor’s input and provide opportunities for the editor to exercise a prerogative to make decisions. I explore the challenges and opportunities associated with these types of communication.
