Developing and Maintaining a Reputation
摘要
In this chapter, I consider the reputation of the journal, and the way this reputation can be enhanced, or damaged. This topic is closely related to Chapter 6 because the reputation to a significant extent depends on the way the audience sees the journal. Reputation is not only a matter of benchmarking with other journals. It also involves being known for the publication of specific research topics, or research of a particular genre. For instance, as already described in Chapter 5, a key objective for the journals I edit is that they be known for the constructiveness of the reviewing arrangements. I regard this as a key element in the reputation of those journals.
