This chapter is structured around a description of the more or less regular daily activities of editors. These include communications with a wide variety of stakeholders, predominantly associated with the handling of manuscripts and the decisions reached thereon. Insights here will be of interest to researchers in particular since they are often the people most directly affected by the decisions.
