Education Quality and Standards in the Public School and the Private School- Case Study in Saudi Arabia

摘要

The present Research paper will attempt to tackle the issue of the difference in quality and outcome of the English language programs in public and private schools in Saudi Arabia. It will actually attempt to understand some of the root causes of the differences between these two parallel domains that are supposed to deliver the same quality and professional standards. The study is actually based on a comparative study of various literature sources on the issue and. This will be supported by a quantitative study comparing the grades of the English language subject in two governmental schools and two private schools. The paper will base its perspective and hypotheses as well as part of the conclusions on previous research works in the field of English language teaching and student results among other factors including teachers’ training and recruitment standards and their teaching styles inside the classroom. The conclusions will also be based on a survey of teachers’ opinions and data records of student grades in English in the four schools in question in order to have a clearer idea about the mechanisms underpinning the differences in case there are any.
