Interactive e-Books in Mathematics Learning: A Systematic Mapping Study

Learning mathematics is one of the main problems facing education. The current digital era makes the use of several alternative learning environments possible. One of these environments is achieved through the use of interactive e-books, which allow learning mathematics using various resources so that the audience can interact with more than text and images, with videos, hyperlinks, interactive questions, worksheets, assessments, increasing the motivation to learn at any time and place through fixed and portable electronic devices, thus improving their academic performance. The objective of this study is to determine the contribution of the use of interactive e-books in the learning achievements of mathematics. A systematic mapping study was carried out by searching the main scientific databases. The search retrieved 45 articles, and 19 articles were retained as primary studies. The papers were categorized according to criteria related to the contribution of interactive e-books in mathematics learning: learning theories, didactic strategies, digital educational resources, and incidence of personal factors in education. In conclusion, the use of interactive e-books in the learning of mathematics encourages the student's ability to reason, interact, and manage their knowledge.
