Singapore as Phantasmagoria

This chapter examines the critical potential of street photography by exploring Singapore’s Jewel Changi Mall, Universal Studios Singapore and Little India. By embarking on a psychogeographical dérive, it considers the nation-state as a theme park, arguing that street photography is able to unveil urban scenes as phantasmagoria created by capitalist forces.
