This chapter addresses three questions. To which ‘political familyPolitical families’ does Fratelli d’Italia belong? To what is its success due? What impact is it likely to have on the Italian political system? To answer the first question we will need to discuss some conceptual and methodological aspects of the academic literature on the ‘radical rightRadical right’.
