摘要

Fossil fuel is one of the most pernicious and expensive fuels. The release of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and methane from vehicles into the environment can cause major effects like global warming, weather change and depletion of the ozone layer etc. As we are in need to find an alternative source of fuel for future use, the major significance of biofuel started there. Biofuel is obtained from bio-based products such as bio-diesel and bio -compressed natural gas. This product is obtained from sustainable lignocellulose biomass, agriculture, woodland residues, cyanobacteria, algae and ammonia. These biofuels are toxic-free, sulfur-free, less expensive, more stable and renewable sources that cause no pollution to the environment. Economically biofuels are more efficient than fossil fuels. The major reason for the introduction of biofuel is to preserve the environment. Nowadays there are more advances and progression updated in biofuel production. This review prioritizes the importance of biofuel and gives alternative solutions for fossil fuels.
