Role of Bioactive Metabolites Produced by Plants and Microbes in Fuel Production
摘要
Bioactive metabolites are a diverse group of compounds with specific biological activities and are produced by various living organisms. Plants and microbes produces different bioactive molecules which plays an important role in biofuel production. Bioactive materials enhances the biofuel production by modulating different metabolic pathways. Several enzymes and organic acids produced by microbes helps in degrading the complex sugar to improve the fermentation process which helps in increasing the efficacy and yield of biofuel production. Phytocompounds such as terpenoids, are considered as precursor molecule for bioethanol and biodiesel generation. Additionally, these metabolites also possess antifungal and antibacterial properties, which reduces the contamination occurring during the process of biofuel generation. Several studies also reveal that these phytocompounds also helps in extraction and purification of biofuel. Hence bioactive compounds plays a crucial and multifaceted role in biofuel production. As sustainability and efficacy of biofuel production hold major importance, microbial and plant derived bioactive compounds can redefine the field of renewable energy.
