Treatment of AD with Ruxolitinib

Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are a novel class of therapeutics approved for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Both topical and systemic formulations of JAK inhibitors have been developed. Herein, we describe a case of a patient with mild atopic dermatitis who may benefit from use of the topical JAK inhibitor ruxolitinib. Ruxolitinib’s mechanism of action, efficacy in clinical trials, and safety profile are reviewed.
