To Report or Not to Report? That Is the Question!

This dilemma is aimed at adults and young people attending high school, in the area of Psychology. It deals with a situation in which a psychologist, in the context of psychotherapy sessions, is faced with the dilemma of having to choose whether or not to report the fact that her patient suffers sexual abuse by her stepfather. The professional, knowing that the adolescent is at risk of death, denounces the case to the Guardianship Council, without the girl’s consent. The values of trust and dignity are at stake.
