摘要

The first traces of Hausdorff’s talent as a poet date back to his last two years at the Gymnasium. Unfortunately, nothing remains from the poems he composed at that time, but we know that they must have been of remarkable quality. As described earlier, he enjoyed the distinction of being asked to read his poetry, including poems written in Latin, on ceremonial occasions held at the school. His further literary development was intertwined with his path in philosophy, as discussed in the first section of the previous chapter.
