Analysis of Energy Efficiency Electric Vehicles Using a Driving Cycle on an Established Route in the City of Ambato

摘要

According to the current trend focused on environmental care and technological advances that have generated a perspective change in energy usage aimed at reducing pollution levels, electric mobility has been taken as an option to reduce pollution generated by the use of vehicles powered by fossil fuels. For this reason, it is of upmost importance to analyze the efficiency of such proposals of mobility transition, as well as of the use of driving cycles as a viable altern4.5ative for energy savings. The analysis goal of this study is to evaluate the comparative energy demand between an internal combustion vehicle and an electric vehicle under real scenarios, in a given route included in the road cadastre of the city of Ambato, using the acquisition of position and elevation data georeferenced through the use of a GPS device for a subsequent analysis through the equations of vehicle dynamics. As result the average energy consumption of the battery of the electric car of 20. 67% was obtained through data acquisition from an automotive scanner, and a comparative performance of 4.91 [km/kWh] for the electric vehicle and 4.58 [kw/kWh] for the internal combustion vehicle for advanced research efforts of electric and hybrid drivetrains in Ecuador.
