摘要

Soccer, as an invasion team sport, is characterized by frequent high-intensity efforts and physical collisions among players. These dynamics render soccer players susceptible to injuries, impacting both their health and performance. Consequently, injury prevention becomes a crucial aspect of soccer training. This chapter delves into the existing evidence concerning injury prevention in soccer, with a specific emphasis on the intricate relationship between training load and injury risk. The contemporary focus on load monitoring practices in the context of injury prevention underscores their significance. However, this chapter takes a critical stance on the current state of evidence supporting these practices. It is essential to note that this critical reflection does not dismiss the value of load monitoring but seeks to contextualize its role within the broader framework of injury prevention.
