Peak Locomotor Demands: Another Approach for Training Load Monitoring
摘要
Several research articles emphasize the importance of comprehending match demands to effectively manage training load in soccer players, particularly for teams participating in leagues with less congested schedules (e.g., one match per week), allowing for more training days. The research has furnished strength and conditioning coaches with in-depth insights into the typical physical demands of soccer, enabling them to replicate external load demands in training scenarios. Nevertheless, it has been observed in various studies that training drills aimed at reproducing average demands may fall short of capturing the full spectrum of match demands. As a result, calculating peak locomotor demands emerges as a crucial consideration with significant practical implications for coaches.
