Hendrik S. Houthakker (1924–2008)

Hendrik S. (Henk) ( Houthakker, H.S. (1955–1956). ‘The Pareto Distribution and the Cobb–Douglas Production Function in Activity Analysis’. In 1950, he achieved a permanent place in the pantheon of economic thought, at age 26, in introducing the strong axiom of revealed preference to establish the equivalence of Samuelson’s revealed preference with the Slutsky-Hicks theory of demand.
