Introduction: Occasions for Reflection on Political Possibility

The introduction to this volume explains that the various chapters brought together here explore the space between political reality and the political imagination. Literary and political writing and their interrelations; the depiction of political psychology; literature’s potential in illuminating power, violence, and resistance; and literature’s capacity to capture the nuances of political corruption, ethical corrosion, and aesthetic redemption are introduced here, with brief presentations of the ground covered in each of the chapters.
