Transcultural Learning as a Model for Relationalizating Multiple Rationalities
摘要
This chapter introduces the transcultural learning model (TLM) as a model for operationalizing organizational learning as relationalizing rationalities. The chapter includes a discussion of the meaning of transculturality and transcultural learning as applied in this book. Culture is discussed in terms of both stakeholder culture (micro-level) and organizational culture (meso-level). At the micro-level, culture is defined in terms of multiple rationalities. At the organizational level, culture is elaborated as an organizational attribute that is distinct from the micro-level, but which influences the relationalization of the rationalities of the various stakeholders. The TLM is then conceptualized in terms of relational governance. The chapter also includes further elaboration to elucidate the concepts of non-normativity and pro-sociality, concepts discussed and included in the TLM but new to the organizational learning literature.
