Thyroid Cancer Bone Metastasis
摘要
While bony metastases from thyroid cancer are not common, their presence can have a significant impact on performance status and survival. RAI and thyroid hormone suppression are considered first-line treatment; however, bony metastases are relatively resistant to these treatment modalities. Medical therapy, surgical resection, and radiation are often necessary to treat progressive or symptomatic lesions and can be utilized as monotherapies or in combination. Optimal treatment of thyroid cancer bony metastases can result in sustained improvements in quality of life and improve survival.
