The Impact of High-Performance Work System on Intellectual Capital, Organizational Resilience and Innovation Growth: Evidence from the Micro Small Medium Enterprise
摘要
This study aims to analyze the effect of a High-Performance Work System on Organizational Resilience and Innovation Growth mediated by Intellectual Capital. Intellectual Capital is intangible assets in the form of knowledge, training, skills, experience, and relationships with internal companies, customers, suppliers, and other external associations. Increasing Intellectual Capital can be a way to develop innovation (Innovation Growth) so that MSMEs can achieve Organizational Resilience in the business life cycle. Besides, companies can support employees with an adequate High-Performance Work system during difficult times through training workshops, guiding self-control, cognitive skills, successful planning, and external support. In theory, this study puts forth multiple assertions for the following grounds: (1) There is a scarcity of empirical data on the utilization of intellectual capital factors in the MSME sector as a result (dependent variable); this aligns with the assertion made in reference (Gürlek in J Hosp Market Manag 30:38–70, 2020) that there is a limited body of research and empirical support for the precursors and outcomes of Intellectual Capital. (2) Labor absorption by MSMEs in the global sector reaches 67%; specifically in Indonesia, the absorption is 97%, so MSMEs are very important to develop sustainably. (3) Intellectual Capital is the main instrument in increasing the business life cycle of MSMEs in several countries, which is currently proven to be 97% less than five years, besides the limited reach due to the lack of Relational Capital of only 3.9% reaching between countries. Therefore, it is crucial to understand how Intellectual Capital influences the Organizational Resilience of MSMEs.
