Differentiality: From Saussure to Morphodynamics

“Differentiality” is a “difficult idea” but a necessary concept for semiolinguistic knowledge. In this chapter, we briefly report on Saussure's efforts to ground his intuition of differential identities, and show how the morphodynamic approach provides solutions to the problems he encounters.
