Micromechanical Modeling of Biobased Sisal Polylactic Acid Compounds
摘要
This study focuses on the development of composites with a PLA matrix reinforced with natural untreated sisal fibers at 10, 20, 30, and 40 wt% reinforcement levels. These ones were prepared using the injection molding technique and their tensile mechanical properties were investigated, too. The values of interfacial shear resistance, τ, and fiber orientation factor \({\chi }_{1}\) were determined based on the stress-strain curves obtained from the tensile tests. Bowyer Bader methodology was employed to calculate these values. Finally, a comparison was made with published research and the obtained results were found to be consistent and satisfactory.
