Measurements Used in Studying Mindfulness-Based Programs
摘要
There are a limited number of standardized mindfulness measures designed specifically for children and adolescents. The first section of this chapter reviews seven mindfulness scales that have been validated or used in previous studies for mindfulness-based programs targeting this population. The advantages and limitations of each scale are discussed in detail. Additionally, other potential forms of assessment, which include behavioral measures such as breathing counting, the Head–Toes–Knees–Shoulders task, Ecological Momentary Assessment, and the Attention Network Test are introduced. Other innovative approaches, such as the use of drawing and photo taking, are explored. Future studies can evaluate the appropriateness of these novel assessment tools for enhancing the evidence base for mindfulness-based programs designed for children and adolescents.
