Ethical Issues in Teaching Mindfulness to Children and Adolescents

  • Herman Hay Ming Lo

摘要

This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the ethical considerations involved in teaching mindfulness to children and adolescents. It begins by examining the debate surrounding the transformation of a traditional Buddhist meditative practice into a secular mindfulness program. Subsequently, it delves into a discussion of ethical concerns within four key areas, the development of program content, implementation of the program, teacher training and development, and awareness of the potential misuse of mindfulness practices by participants. Furthermore, the chapter identifies areas that require attention for the advancement of MBPs and suggests avenues for further research.
