Climate Change in Tunisian Higher Education

Higher education of climate change is giving students sufficient knowledge and tools to act and decision-making face of rapid and serious change of climate. Why should students learn about climate change and how might we do it? This study points the importance and the emergency of involving young people in taking actions to adapt to and to mitigate climate changes in order to sustain life for future generations. Curriculums and training programs should integrate the environmental, the social as well as the economic aspects of climate changes through a multidisciplinary approach. The case studied in this study is relative to the University of Gabes, Tunisia. A survey of 15 questions is proposed to students of different levels (engineering and master degrees of the National Engineering School of Gabes for the academic year 2021–2022) to assess some issues of climate change education. The responses of 109 students approve, in one hand, the awareness of young people about the serious risk and their commitment in the society. In another hand, they pointed the lack of courses and trainings related to climate change issues.
