摘要

The effect of Seaweed Liquide Extract (SLE) of the green macroalga Chaetomorpha linum on the seed germination, yield and pigment characteristic of the chickpea Cicer arietinum was investigated under laboratory conditions and in pots. Different concentrations varying from 1, 3, 5, 8 to 10% of SLE were tested to grow the chickpea Cicer arietinum. Germination essays were conducted under laboratory conditions, and the germinated seeds were then transplanted in pot filled with fine soil where they were allowed growing for 30 days. Growth parameters including % of seed germination, root length, shoot length and biochemical parameters were monitored. Application of SLE at the lowest concentration (1%) showed maximum seed germination, root and shoot length and content of total chlorophyll, chl (a) and chl (b). Therefore, these results support the bio-stimulant potential of C. linum SLE which can be used as an economical, renewable, efficient and eco-friendly bio-fertilizer. The algal extract with a high content of biologically active compounds may find its future application in various industries.
