Comparative Study of Different Aerodynamic Profiles for HAWT and VAWT
摘要
Wind energy is one of the oldest energies. It is considered as respectful to the environment. The essential element for a wind turbine is the blade. Therefore, it is important to understand the behavior of turbine blades. The objective of this study is to model the rotor in horizontal and vertical axis wind turbines. QBlade software was used to simulate these wind turbines’ blades. The work aims to determine aerodynamic design parameters of the blade as twist angle, chord length, and the annual production of electricity for different rotational speed (400 rpm and 1500 rpm). A comparison between two cases of type of distribution and profiles of the blade with maintaining the same length and width is also presented.
