Activated Carbon (Biomass-Derived)/TiO2 Composites for Adsorption/Photocatalytic Decomposition of Pharmaceutic Compounds: Salicylic Acid Under Visible Light
摘要
The present report demonstrates the preparations of activated carbon/TiO2 composite (ACG-TiO2-410, ACG-TiO2-700), their characterization using XRD, FTIR and BET determination of particle size, the presence of functional groups and evolution of adsorption ability and photocatalytic using salicylic acid (SA) in aqueous phases under visible light. Composite materials based on AC/TiO2 were prepared from biomass derived (stones olive) impregnated with commercial TiO2. In comparison with TiO2, prepared composite obtained maximal adsorption of pharmaceutics compounds. The obtained results enabled to estimate the possibility to use to process adsorption/photocatalytic at the same time for wastewater treatment.
