摘要

The pine tree is an important tree in Portugal and is integrated in forest fire environments. The pine tree thermal behavior in forest fire environment is evaluated in this work. The temperature distribution is an important topic to calculate in order to evaluate the survival conditions, namely the lethal threshold, for this kind of tree. In this work, detailed studies of thin pine tree trunk dimensions, often found in forests, were studied. In accordance with the obtained results, the highest temperature, slightly above 60 ºC, was verified in the upstream trunk surface and the lowest temperature, lower than 45 ºC, were verified in the downstream trunk surface.
