Assessment of Groundwater Purification Processes Using Water Quality Indices
摘要
Our research aimed to assess the impact of sewage network construction on groundwater quality in a Hungarian settlement. To do this, we used the Contamination Index (Cd) and the Water Quality Index (WQI) to evaluate 44 monitoring wells in the settlement. The assessment was conducted using a webGIS tool that allowed us to categorize the degree of contamination and water quality status into five categories. Our results showed low levels of contamination in the groundwater in 2021, with 79.55% of the wells having low or no contamination and only 20.45% having moderate contamination. According to the WQI, 35 monitoring wells had good to excellent water quality, while 20.46% of the water samples were categorized as poor or very poor. Found a significant correlation (p < 0.01) between the two indices, indicating that the Cd and WQI effectively evaluate water quality.
