Simulation and Modeling of a Photovoltaic Solar Panel for Solar Refrigeration Application

Modeling electrical characteristics of a specific type solar panel, KD180GX-LP, is performed which can be used for solar refrigeration. A single diode electrical modeling is used to model electrical characteristics of the PV module based on the engineering specification provided by the manufacturer. The detail electrical characteristics of the PV module is presented on current versus voltage (I–V) plane, power versus voltage (P–V) plane, and resistance versus voltage (R–V) plane. It is concluded that the modular resistance steeply increases and then decreases near maximum power point (mpp).
