摘要
The agricultural sector is a major contributor to the global economy and is seen as a key factor in achieving sustainable economic growth. In 2018, the global gross domestic product (GDP)Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was comprised of 4% from agriculture, while in certain developing countries, this percentage was higher than 25%. Although agriculture only makes up a small portion of the global economy, it is a vital source of income for many people worldwide. In 2010, approximately 2.6 billion people worldwide relied on agriculture as a source of income, either as direct participants or as dependents of those actively engaged in the sector. In 2012, approximately 7.1 billion people, which is 19% of the world’s population, were involved in farming. However, the income generated from agriculture (including hunting/fishing and forestry) only accounted for 2.8% of the total global income.
