Who am I? What does it mean to be me? The answer to this abstract philosophical question—the most fundamental question that a human being can ask—takes us straight to the most concrete political decisions that people can make. For the answer is not: I am a set of statistical facts about age, gender, occupation, or what have you. The answer is that I live in and through stories. The answer is that I am a story.
