摘要

Determination of muscle paths and lengths is one of the most important processes in the simulation of musculoskeletal models. In this study, the trajectories of 26 muscles of the lower limb are obtained from a magnetic resonance study of a living subject. The muscle paths obtained for each muscle are represented as straight lines, trajectories of centroids and approximation with polynomials of order 3, 5 and 10. A comparative analysis was made between the different representations of the muscle paths, and its results indicated advantages of the order 3 polynomial fitting in terms of better accuracy on muscle length estimation, and a lower number of required parameters.
